Integrate STEM, Social Emotional Learning, and Literacy!

Making new friends can be hard! You aren’t alone if you have some worries about making new friends.

In this STEM Challenge, students design a mini-model of a “good friend” using cardboard and recyclable materials

Students use sentence starters, so they can feel comfortable connecting with new people.

CASEL Framework: Social Awareness

This activity is a part of a series of STEM resources designed to follow the CASEL Framework for social emotional learning.

This includes the capacities to feel compassion for others, understand broader historical and social norms for behavior in different settings, and recognize family, school, and community resources and supports.
