Teach growth mindset and introduce STEM group roles at the beginning of the school year! Integrate STEM and literacy in your classroom with this Eraser Read Aloud activity!
In the story, Eraser by Anna Kang, students learn about teamwork and how everyone on the team has a special role. For this read-aloud STEM challenge, students write down words they think about when they think about teamwork on index cards. They use those cards to build a tower.
After the activity is over, there is a writing extension for students to consider having a growth mindset. They write about mistakes they made and how they can do better next time.
This lesson also includes STEM group roles to help students develop teamwork at the beginning of the school year!
This STEM challenge aligns with NGSS, Common Core, and TEKS.
