In the Fall Leaf Man STEAM challenge, students design and craft their very own Leaf Animal! An excellent companion activity to the fall read aloud book Leaf Man by Lois Elhert.
The Fall Leaf Man STEAM Project:
Journey outside this fall and collect some leaves! Students can identify the types of leaves using our leaf identification worksheet. After the leaves are collected, your students get to build their very own Leaf Animal!
Students plan, design, and execute their own ideas. After they have completed their activity, there is time for reflection in a STEAM Journal to think through what worked and what didn't.
The Writing Activity:
A writing activity is also included for students to write a story about their creation using characters, setting, events, problem, and solution. Worksheets are included to help students plan and write their own story in a simple, fun, and easy way!
