Intro to 3rd Grade STEM Miss Makey and the Magic Bin Read Aloud STEAM Challenge

Teach Third Grade STEM at the beginning of the school year!

Connect Engineering and Read Alouds with this amazing NGSS Aligned back to school Read Aloud STEM Activity as a companion for Miss Makey and the Magic Bin by Mandi Figlioli.

This lesson is perfect for your first STEM Lesson of the school year. You set up the procedures, have students introduce themselves, and create a Magic Bin to enhance creativity all year long.

In this 3rd Grade STEM Challenge, students learn about all of the types of engineers, and how to work together in groups. Students make your classroom Magic Bin. They think like different types engineers using materials they find in the bin.

Students also will create their own name out of materials you have in your classroom. It's a great way for students to get to know one another.
