In the story, The Magical Yet, the girl learns that with time and practice she can eventually do things she can't do...yet. In this growth mindset challenge, students see how practice can help you get where you want to be.

They practice cup stacking to see how they can get better over time. There is a personal writing and drawing exercise for students to write about something they want to be able to do. Also included is a writing extension for students to write about how they overcame something difficult.

This STEM challenge aligns with NGSS, Common Core, and TEKS.

Materials:

• small cups (6, 10, or 15 per student)
• 2 popsicle sticks per student
• color sticks, crayons, or markers
• stem journals (included)
