Integrate STEM in your classroom with Build a Planter Earth Day STEM Challenge!
Teach your students to "Go Green!" In this Recycling STEM Challenge, students collect and build a planter from various recyclables. A letter to parents is included to help facilitate the collection of recyclables.
Math Integration:
They must use money to budget how much of each item to purchase before designing and building their planter. (We included an easier and more difficult money/budgeting worksheet).
The STEM Process:
Students develop critical thinking and engineering skills. Students plan, design, and execute their own ideas. After they have completed their activity, there is time for reflection on what worked and what didn't.
Aligns with NGSS(Next Gen Science Standards) and Common Core.
Amazing resource for STEM club, STEM teachers, elementary librarians, parents who love hands-on learning, and elementary teachers who want to create a hands-on educational environment in their classroom!
