Connect sports, literacy, and force and motion with this 4th-grade STEM activity. This lesson will be a BIG HIT!
In sports, lots of things collide. When they do, there is an energy transfer between the objects. In this STEM lesson, students will ask questions about what they think happens when different objects collide, observe what happens to their motion, and use what they know to create some collisions using the sport of bowling.
This STEM challenge aligns with NGSS Standards for fourth grade NGSS Physical Science 4-PS3-3 but can be used in 3rd-5th grade.
