Teach Fourth Grade STEM at the beginning of the school year!
Connect STEM and Literacy with this amazing NGSS Aligned back to school Read Aloud STEM Activity as a companion for What Do you Do with an Idea by Kobi Yamada.
This lesson is perfect for your first STEM Lesson of the school year. You set up procedures for STEAM, teach students what to do with an idea using idea generation strategies, have students introduce themselves, and set up your classroom for an amazing year of STEAM learning.
In this Fourth Grade STEM Challenge, students will create their own name in 3D out of paper. It's a great way for students to get to know one another and explore 3D engineering.
Students also create a paper tower. They get to follow the engineering design process and work individually and on their own. It's a great opportunity for students to practice using the STEAM procedures and their new idea generation strategies.
This STEM Challenge is for 4th Grade, but can also be used in 3rd Grade STEM, and 5th Grade STEM too.
